The Abondoned Theme Park (Chapter 1)

I hated theme parks, they always looked boring, then the new park came to town. It was a grand space that drew my attention like a moth to a flame. There were dodgems shaped like jam tarts and a splatter game called ink dodger where you loaded guns with ink and got supplied with hockey masks and thick plastic raincoats. I was ten when it shut down...

Then seven years later came a Saturday evening, winter time it was, and I was shuffling along kicking frosty leaves across the pavement with my hands in my pockets and my neck and mouth buried inside my jumper. It had been years since the theme park had been opened up, by now the lock was caked in ice and very few people noticed it was still vacant. I tugged at the chain and lock until the ice descended to snow.

Then suddenly I remembered when I was 10 years old and uncle Steve showed us where he kept the key, then I remembered something my friend whispered to me that day 'I bet that in 10 years time the key will stay in the same place!'. Most of the times my friends predictions came true, I wondered if maybe she was right. I reached up onto the gates and fiddled until I found a loose part of bar, I shook until a set of keys came out, I noticed it was getting late and replaced the bar.

I strolled along to my apartment and hung the keys up on a hook on my wall, my room mate (which for my luck hes a boy) returned home and gave me a huge hug which cut off my blood circulation for a second or two. "Danny-hurting-can't-breathe!" I cried.
He released his grip and sighed "sorry Olivia, hey have you managed to get some fuel for my sports car?"He flirted with me.

I rolled my eyes as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder, this is the problem as having a male as a room mate, showing you his trophy's, making you eat the same strip of spaghetti as him-gross isn't it, boys wouldn't get it though would they? They think their charming you but actually they're just embarrassing you.

"Danny, I know you like me and I like you but it would make it awkward, don't ya think? I'm free on Saturday if you wanna go to London though!" his eyes widened like a puppy"as friends!" I finished speaking, letting him know the boundary line.
I wrapped my arms around his waist and hugged him tight, but pulled myself back before he could sniff my hair again.
"Mm sweet pineapple..." he murmured, before falling forward onto the floor. I ignored him and headed to the kitchen to cook a meal.

Tonight I was planning to go to salsa in my sisters slutty mini dress but due to the seven car pile up outside it looked like those plans were delayed, I shook Danny until he leapt up off the floor an turned it into a break dance.
I ate my pasta silently until Danny asked me how my day had went,
"Oh my day went great thanks," I mumbled in the middle of a mouthful of pasta and ham. "Hey tomorrow do you wanna go to the old fair grounds?" I asked eagerly. He said yes and I kissed him on the cheek, while he tried to blurt out a few words I shuffled into my room to rest.

The next day I woke up to the sound of heavy metal music and horrible voices screeching out of tune. I pulled on my dressing gown and slippers and trudged out of my room, it was six in the morning and Danny was already up doing aerobics in the living room.
"Uh, Danny if you want to stay up listening to people who can't sing just ask that guy down stairs who always gets on my nerves to sing for you!" I complained.
"Did I hear a good morning in your never ending rant?"Joked Danny.

"Good morning"I grumbled,
Danny frowned, "I'm sorry Danny, just turn it down at six in the morning!"
He turned off the TV and lead me to the table, he had two mega sized bowls of fruit salad with a honey mustard dressing. We had lived with each other since I was 15 and by now he knew my favorite snack was fruit salad with honey mustard sauce.

After a lovely bowl of salad, he went into his room to get changed and me to mine. "How much money are you going to take to the fair grounds Olivia?" he shouted from outside my door,
"Lets see, its abandoned so... none!" I replied, putting on my shoes and grabbing my jacket.
I stuffed the keys in my bag and marched out the door and into the fresh air.
I could hear Danny emptying the money out of his pockets.
Danny and me jogged out of the flat and onwards towards the gates of the amusement park.
"Y'know Olivia, you've always struck as a beautiful party girl but now you seem to appear as a mysterious tomboy" huffed Danny trying to make a good conversation. I ignored him and stopped at the gate.

I took the keys out and fumbled the key in the lock until we heard a ca plunk and the frozen gates lodged open.
"Uh, don't you want to go to the skateboard park?" shivered Danny,
"What is the fun in that?"i struggled about until the gate made a big enough gap for me to squeeze past. I smiled as he tried to barge his way through the iron bars.

Once we were both sorted inside the theme park, we explored the dusty rides, we came to the first activity and just to my luck it was the tunnel of love.
Before I could drag Danny away, he was sitting in the empty love seat floating in the chlorine, I acted strict but I couldn't help exploding in giggles when he started making weird positions in the boat.

He pathetically tumbled into the water and I walked away embarrassed somehow, like everyone in the world was watching me and him, like they were hovering above, waiting for the moment to show us they were watching us. The next thing we came to was the shocking ride of the ink dodger, little did we know that we would meet someone who would tell us things that changed our life.
We stepped into the arena of the inky playground and sucked in the sight like a vacuum does to dirt.

It started to rain and I pulled up my jacket tighter to my rosy cheeks, in the middle of the ruined arena stood a person, I wasn't sure whether it was a girl or a boy, but it was definitely a person, they wore a turquoise hoodie that covered their hair and some black skinny jeans that were tattered at the legs, they turned around to reveal a pretty face, bruised and bleeding, and long brunette hair stretching to just above her waist.
